Job Title: Maintenance Porter
Location: Cornish Commons – Cornish College of the Arts
Salary Range: $20.00 to $22.00 Hourly
COCM provides facility and operations management to the Cornish Commons residence hall on the campus of Cornish College of the Arts, serving students from Cornish and other Seattle institutions. We are looking for an exceptional team member to join our community.
This entry level position is responsible for daily Furniture set-up, recycle & trash duties, vacuuming, cleaning, light grounds duty, light bulb changes & miscellaneous preventive maintenance and work requests for a 20-story, 156,000 sq. ft, 432-bed residential facility. Primary responsibility will be for residential floors and common areas. The Building Porter reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
General Responsibilities Under Supervision of Maintenance Supervisor
- Daily Furniture set-up/reset in common areas
- Recycle bins emptied
- Trash compactor cleaned
- Light grounds duty
- Light bulb changes
- Carpet & upholstery cleaning
- Perform standard, preventative maintenance request
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication
- possess strong customer service skills.
- ability to life 50 lbs
- be open to flexible scheduling and overtime
- authorized to work in the United States
This position has a pay rate of $20-$22 per hour and is a 40-hour a week position and is eligible for overtime and yearly bonus. COCM offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, paid leave, and 401K plans as well as professional development funding.
